He’s Baaaaaaaack

Okay, who let Tom DeLay out of his cage?  More importantly, who in the fool tarnation is letting him play doctor again?  Whoever it is needs to quit.  Right now.  Before I whack them upside the head.

Just when you thought it was safe to make medical decisions on your own, Tom DeLay yanks out his stethoscope and starts making life and death decisions – about your life and death.  His own life and death apparently ain’t interesting enough to keep him entertained.

Tom DeLay’s medical care plan for America is – and I mean this with all sincerity – a reliance on miracles.  Given the opportunity, he’d replace the Houston medical center with a reflection of the Blessed Mother in an oil spill on the parking lot.

Tom DeLay, who is too busy playing golf and gallivanting around raising political money to adopt an embryo, told CNN that embryonic stem cell research is "a scientific exploration into the benefits of killing human beings."

Now that was totally uncalled for.  Calling Nancy Reagan a murderess.  Really, Tom.  Couldn’t you have said something a little less insensitive, like maybe, “Stem cell research is a Democratic party plot to inhabit the universe with cloned copies of Elvis and Hillary.”  That would be more believable, Honey.

If stem cell research is “a scientific exploration into the benefits of killing human beings,” then isn’t war the political exploration into the benefits of killing human beings?  Ahhhh, seeing a man so eaten-up with political science that he’s blind to biological science is a sight to behold.

Tom DeLay, or even George Bush, will not stop stem cell research.  They will only stop it in America.  France, Germany, China or South Korea will proceed with research and find a cure for the most dreaded diseases in the world.  And then, like oil, America will be held economic hostage.  We’ll be left praying to a reflection on the parking lot.

I know this isn’t funny, but the results of the actions of DeLay and Bush in this case aren’t funny either.
